Purpose of Position

The Regional Director has overall responsibility for the leadership and management of commercial banking in the Western Region of the United States. The Regional Director is responsible for the performance objectives and procedures for the region's commercial banking function as well as managing the goals and the objectives of the respective business lines. Additionally, this position will directly manage a team of commercial bankers, to include overseeing the team's development of new relationships as well as the retention of existing commercial banking relationships in the region. This position will also have a consultative role in the management and execution of commercial banking services. The Regional Director will manage and develop complex commercial accounts that meet the bank's deposit and lending requirements and maximize profitability while minimizing risk. This position serves as a trusted advisor by generating ideas, advice and solutions for future and existing clients. This position represents the most senior position located in the Western Region

Essential Job Functions

  • Maximize commercial deposit growth.
  • Develop and Implement aggressive sales strategies to acquire and expand new and existing customer relationships.
  • Manage, direct, evaluate and oversee the performance of commercial banking staff; includes performance monitoring, employee development and training, motivating, coaching, mentoring, etc.
  • As the company's most senior executive in the region, represent the Bank within the community and act as an ambassador for the brand among our target market segments.
  • Encourage teamwork.
  • Foster organizational commitment.
  • Support and execute the larger strategic initiatives of the bank in the Western Region.
  • Supervise the origination of quality loans that are consistent with the principles of safety and soundness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee the monitoring of current loans and customer's credit profiles to ensure conformity with terms.
  • Cross sell all bank products; direct the coordination of product partners in the achievement of business plans.  
  • Provide reporting and analysis to Executive Management and the Board of Directors as determined by the EVP, Commercial Banking.
  • Remain cognizant of developing trends.
